Behind The Scenes - How I Photograph Interiors
When most people view real estate photography they may think to themselves one of three things:
That’s an ugly image.
That’s a beautiful image.
I can create that image.
“I can certainly take THAT image. How hard could it be?” In today’s post, I’m going to show what went into creating this one image to highlight that interior photography isn’t always what it appears to be. While it certainly isn’t hard, it can be challenging to get all the various shots to create a realistic image. Knowing when and where to use flash. Knowing how much flash to use. Where to bounce your flash. And lastly, how to edit the image.
An ambient light exposure to capture highlight detail.
An ambient light exposure to capture shadow detail.
A simple front flash to capture the color of the room and to tone down some of the glare.
A side flash to capture the color of the room and to tone down some of the glare. I used a stronger power to create texture and depth.
This flash pop is to provide light, color, and texture to the beautiful furniture.
