Thoughts on the Phantom 4 Pro

Fantastic.

In reality, that one word is all that's needed. It's a truly special device. This is my second DJI drone and it blows the Phantom 3 out of the water. In many ways, it's similar. The app UI (Go 4 vs Go) is almost identical. The startup, connecting, options, and all the initial setup functions are the same. Sure the props go on quicker, the startup sound is nicer, it feels better made, but at the end of the day, I was looking to upgrade the image and video quality.

And boy does it deliver.

To compare, the Phantom 3 essentially uses a cell phone camera sensor. It's ok for what it is, but it leaves a lot to be desired. With the Phantom 4 Pro using a micro 4/3rds sensor from Sony, the image quality has increased by 10-fold. The dynamic range alone (pure white to pure black) is phenomenal and it should be.

I could bore you to death with written details about every feature, but there are plenty of those around. Instead, watch this video from Photoshop Cafe.
