When and why a Zillow 3D Virtual Tour isn't ideal
In the previous blog posts, we went a few of reasons why a Matterport virtual tour isn’t ideal. We also have discussed the differences between Matterport and Zillow in the past and how the Zillow tour is almost always the best choice for most real estate listings. In this post, we’ll discuss when and why a Zillow 3D Virtual Tour isn’t recommended.
There are three big reasons when I don’t recommend a Zillow 3D Virtual Tour:
It’s a commercial property.
It’s a luxury real estate listing.
When the client would like to embed forms or customize the tour.
A Zillow 3D Virtual Tour is great for when it’s an average home listed for sale or for rent and top image quality isn’t required when paired with top-notch photography. However, if the property is a commercial real estate listing or a business wanting to have a virtual tour on their website to promote themselves, Zillow is clearly not ideal. For one, Zillow doesn’t support commercial properties in any form and doesn’t need further explanation.
The second reason why I sometimes don’t recommend the Zillow virtual tour is when a client would like better image quality. The Zillow platform does not allow for any image editing or updating. With the Cloudpano tour, we have the ability to edit the image to create a clean look vs the automatic settings of the Zillow virtual tour. Luxury listings will tend to be on the market longer and require that extra touch to make them special so those will receive color and exposure correction.
The third and final reason why I may not recommend the Zillow 3D Virtual Tour is when the client wants to capture customer information. With the Cloudpano system, forms can be embedded right within the tour! This allows for a stronger marketing strategy. There are several other perks to the Cloudpano system. Those include the ability to add branding, host a live tour online with prospective clients, import the tour into Google Street View, replace one image when that space updates, change the look & feel and so much more. Please contact Adam today if you are interested in or have questions about either virtual tour.
